This design was drawn up for Don Deem of Perth. Don had built and owned the prototype for my 550 design a number of years earlier and want something with a little more room than the strict sports boats but with similar performance.
This design was targeted at the prevelant conditions in Perth. It is narrow at only 2.30 metres beam but this is carried all the way to the stern. The actual waterline beam is only 20mm wider than the earlier 80 metre design built by Barrie O’Donoghue and Michael “Mojo” Unwin.
The two designs share foils with Mojo’s rig being slightly taller.
The boat is strip planked in Poulownia epoxy sheathed each side. She has a vertical lifting board with 300 + kgs of lead, twin rudders and a “proper” interior.
